Whew! That was a lot of information over the last 3 blog posts, wasn’t it?!

Amy with her left hand in front of her forehead, fingers facing camera, wearing glasses with her eyes a bit wide and her mouth pursed as if going 'whew', she is in the corner of her coach with knickknacks and photos behind her.

I know! I agree! Now, here it is blog number 4, the final blog in this series, and I am really curious – have you started thinking about or planning out your mini-vacation?

I hope that what I am sharing with you is causing you to see that you can take some time to relax and that it is important.

In today’s blog, I want to talk to you about all the reasons that are trying to keep you from taking what I have shared to heart, and taking action.

  • There is just too much happening and it doesn’t seem feasible.
  • It doesn’t make sense when I am in debt, to take time away.
  • It seems like it would be a lot of work.
  • I will just take my day off and rest at home.
  • My friends and family will make me feel like I shouldn’t do it.
  • If you knew all of the stress I was under, you wouldn’t even suggest this.
  • Maybe next year.
  • Perhaps when the kids are older, when life slows down, when it is easier to plan out.

Wow! Those are a lot of excuses!

Actually, that is all that they are. If you seriously make a decision to take a vacation and tell yourself a different story – you will find that the excuse can actually change to fuel to make it happen! Let’s dive in to that…

Let’s tackle the first one. There is just too much happening and it doesn’t seem feasible. That right there is a cry out for some time away! When we are trying to do too many things at once and are feeling overwhelmed, the stress can become unhealthy. While it seems as if I am adding more to your list, by suggesting a mini-vacation – understand the benefits and how it can help. Imagining where you are going, knowing that you will be having a break, planning something positive, these all enhance your life!

In fact, in this Health.org blog https://selecthealth.org/blog/2019/05/5-benefits-of-taking-a-vacation – author Chakell Wardleigh shares that it can improve mental health as well as help fight heart disease.

It doesn’t make sense when I am in debt, to take time away. Yeah, this is a tough one. I get it. Here’s the thing – maybe your time away is going to be a lot more Motel 6 than the Ritz, but it can still be something extremely valuable. Believe it or not, the mental health benefits, the energy shift and the physical change can stimulate your mind and maybe that can help you to generate more income. Your mini-vacation may require you to stay some place that y0u can easily drive to after work on your last day of the week, only stay gone for your weekend, and return home refreshed for work on Monday (or whichever days you are scheduled. Choosing what do while away will also take a bit of thought. You can check local listings and see if there are any free events happening during your stay. You can walk in the local parks, site see what is around, there are many options that don’t require money.

Let’s also speak though to that thought – that it doesn’t make sense to take the time away. Debt happens. Punishing yourself by not taking time away doesn’t make things better in your life. In fact – you could even set some financial goal to hit prior to leaving and use the vacation as a reward. That would certainly be a better option than just not going because you think it sounds wrong to take the time away. Being in debt causes stress, and that is something that the mini-vacation can help with.

With some creativity, one can manage to take all of those things that I listed and see how it can be used to propel you instead of restrain you.

Life is busy, it just is. You can think that it will be slower and better next year – odds are – it won’t be a lot different. People who have busy lives still need vacations, so do people that don’t seem to have much of anything going on in their lives.

The bottom line? Taking a mini-vacation periodically is a benefit to your mental health, your physical health, your relationships and your professional life.

You need one. You deserve one. You can do it. Now is time to book it, and do it.

While you are at it, take a selfie of yourself now (yup, pause reading and snap a photo please), then take another just before the vacation. Then take one about 1/2 way through your trip and one at the end. Then, do me a favor – look at each of those selfies and see the phenomenal change! The stress of just surviving on our faces is evident, and when we take the time to step away and care for ourselves? It is actually visible! Try it!!

The steps on how to get the free digital download after taking the selfies.

In fact, send us your thoughts after you take those photos and we will send you a free digital download gift! You don’t even have to send us the before and after photos, just tell us your thought when you looked at it. (even if you did it and for some reason you don’t really see the change – you can tell us that too!) You can email us at conquerwithhope@gmail.com – and we will send send a confirmation email back to you, and then send over an email with your free gift! Yes, a FREE digital download GIFT! One more benefit of taking that trip!

Remember, if planning out all of the specifics, and searching for bests deals is not your vibe, and you would like some help in that area – our friend Denise has your back!

Our friend Denise is a travel agent, and she helped us all get the great deals that we did, plus she handled all of the searching, creating an itinerary, and booking for us – it took so much pressure off of me during such a difficult time! The greatest thing is – “All travel bookings have a travel agent fee built in.” – which means I didn’t pay any extra for Denise to book it, in fact – she found better deals than I would have! You see, ” When you book on your own you pay for a Travel agent and are given an 800# but not given personal service. Paying for a service you don’t use is leaving money on the table. Why not book with a travel agent who has your back?” Denise certainly had our backs, and I am so grateful that it was something I didn’t have to worry about – i just told her what I wanted, and she made it happen. So smooth. So simple. So helpful. I asked Denise, and she said that she would love to help our bloggers out – so, here is her link – let her have your back for you too! http://mandmmagicaladventures.com/dblassingame.html Denise can help you with everything from vacation packages to simply renting a car or getting a hotel room. You can also email her at deniseb@mandmmagicaladventures.com (let her know that you read about her on our blog – I know she takes great care of all her clients, but maybe she can bless you with something special!)

We would love it if you would share in comments with us any of your vacation tips – on money, time, or how to – or any of your special memories or suggestions and hopefully inspire others to take vacation too! Thank you!

Sending Smiles across the miles, Ms Amy
