A bit of honesty…

Hey you!

Can I be honest with you?

I’m struggling today. And for the last couple days.

It’s so interesting because I have basically been elated for weeks with all the traveling, time with friends and personal development activities.

But the last few days I have been feeling like “What was I thinking!?”, “Who do I think I am?” and “I should have planned this better.”

I’m also dealing with a flea infestation – which doesn’t help the mood. Lol.

But it’s also interesting because in the last few days I have also been talking to other people who are really struggling right now as well. Which reminds me of three things; we are all connected, this is only temporary and a problem shared is a problem lessened.

We are all connected

The media and all powerful “They” like to get us to think that we are all separate. Separated by our religions, skin color, political views, parenting styles, gender, sexual orientation and whatever. But in reality we are all connected, everything is connected. We all feel joy, hurt, anger and fear. We are all in this journey of the human experience together – we are not separate and it’s ineffective for us to behave as though we were separate.

This is only temporary

Seeing others experience difficult times or emotions reminds me that mine are only temporary. I can step out of the emotion when I am looking at difficulties and see that they won’t last forever, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Life is full of peaks and valleys – but it doesn’t stay in one forever. This gives me hope.

A burden shared is a burden lessened

I used to be that person who kept everything in. I was a lot like Luisa from Encanto. You know, the one who holds everyone else up and pretends like she can handle it all herself? Yup. That was me. And I was proud of it – while also whining to myself asking why no one cared how I felt.

But today I know the importance of being honest and vulnerable with myself and others. Holding things in can cause literally damage to my health and my body.

So today I practice sharing how I am feeling, getting feedback and allowing others to be there for me. It also gives them permission and space to do the same.

And if nothing else works – we can listen to some famous songs to remind us that our struggles are not new to this world. We are not alone.

We are all in this together – High School Musical

Tomorrow – Annie

Three Little Birds – Bob Marley

**How do you cope when you’re struggling?

Thank you for being with us. Thank you for reading, liking, commenting and sharing. We wouldn’t be us without you.

XO, Jorjia
